Travel Diaries: Save Me San Francisco

It’s been 5 years since I visited San Fran. Last time, I “left my heart in San Francisco”; this time, I wanted to leave all of me behind.

I landed in San Francisco at 10am on a Sunday; I was in town for a business trip and had the afternoon to explore the city. With my luggage in hand and foregoing the hotel completely, I took the subway to Downtown SF where I rode the cable car to Fisherman’s Wharf. You should’ve seen the looks I was getting in the cable car with my luggage. But I was a tourist, and there’s something about that title that gives you a free pass to be different. So I didn’t care. I hung from the side of the cable car, zooming down the hilly streets of the city with the wind gushing by me. It was liberating.

Having lived and worked in a few different cities, I’ve had my taste of different lifestyles. But the West Coast has always been my favorite place to live. Whether it’s Vancouver or San Francisco, there’s no place like the laidback lifestyle of the coast.

Sitting on the docks of Fisherman’s Wharf, looking out to Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge, California felt like a second home.

Going back to Vancouver in a few days. More exciting news to come. =)

  1. Lovely photos! I just moved to San Francisco a few months ago, and you've captured the city beautifully. Wishing you safe travels on your way to Vancouver. xo

  2. this is a good set of photos Tracy, I also like the slight fade that you have in these photographs. I think it makes the city more warm and inviting as compared to harsh bold colors I normal see of city life and buildings like in NYC. I read your about page and all the places you are going — cool! Safe travels and shoot a lot of pictures.
